Once assembled, Balking officially measures approximately 13 cm. Its various joints allow you to create dynamic combat poses, whilst its imposing proportions and dominant colours of red, black, grey and gold capture its appearance in the anime.

The kit includes the Grand Axe, as well as the Giganter Crosses mounted on the shoulders. These can be removed to recreate different configurations. Specific parts for the lower body also allow you to recreate the Balking Part 2 form.

Balking can be combined with the MODEROID Gaiking and Raiking kits, sold separately, to form Gaiking the Great and recreate its combination sequence. This compatibility makes it an essential piece for collectors wishing to assemble the series’ three main robots.

Origin and background of the model

Gaiking: Legend of Daiku-Maryu is a super robot anime series produced by Toei Animation. It revisits the Daiku Maryu Gaiking universe with a new story, new characters and modernised mechanical designs.

Gaiking is portrayed as an imposing combat giant endowed with exceptional physical strength. His massive armour, dark red colour scheme and large axe reinforce his appearance as a heavy robot designed for close-quarters combat.

His main weapon, the Grand Axe, reflects his brutal and direct fighting style. The Giganter Crosses on his shoulders also contribute to his visual identity and can be removed from the model kit.

Balking has an intermediate configuration known as Balking Part 2. This form can be recreated using the alternative parts supplied in the kit and plays a role in the combination process with Gaiking and Raiking.
