Bring the mysterious Manon Guardian from the Giant Gorg anime series to life with this articulated model from the MODEROID collection, designed by Good Smile Company. Recognisable by his imposing purple armour, this giant alien controlled by Manon is faithfully reproduced to match his appearance in the anime.

Once assembled, the model stands approximately 17 cm tall and features numerous joints, allowing it to be posed in a variety of ways. Several interchangeable hands are included to vary its display, whilst the lower torso can be fitted with either a rigid plastic part or a more flexible part offering greater freedom of movement.

The Manon Guardian is equipped with two laser rifles, connected to energy tubes made from a flexible material. These weapons can be held in the character’s hands or attached directly to its back. The hatches on either side of the torso can also be opened, replicating certain mechanical functions seen in the series.

The kit includes five unpainted miniature figures, built to the same scale as the Manon Guardian: Manon, Tomenik, Sara, Aroi and a pilot. The various colours of moulded plastic, pre-painted parts and decals allow you to achieve a look close to that of the anime without the need for a full paint job. Experienced modellers can, however, customise the details to add further depth to the overall effect.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Giant Gorg is a Japanese science-fiction anime series created in the 1980s and directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. The story follows the young Yuu Tagami, who travels to the mysterious island of Austral to investigate his father’s death. There, he discovers Gorg, a gigantic blue guardian linked to an ancient alien civilisation.

The Manon Guardian is a purple giant commanded by Manon, one of the last representatives of this civilisation from outer space. His appearance is reminiscent of Gorg’s, but his weaponry and distinctive colour emphasise his role as an adversary. Equipped with powerful laser rifles and possessing considerable strength, he is one of the main obstacles faced by Gorg and his allies.

The confrontation between the two guardians, however, goes beyond a mere mechanical clash. It reflects the differences between Manon and the protagonists regarding the alien legacy hidden on the island of Austral and how it should be protected or utilised.
