In the dystopian universe of Goddess of Victory: Nikke, humanity has been driven from the Earth’s surface by an invasion of ruthless alien mechanical creatures known as ‘Raptures’ and has taken refuge in a giant underground complex called the Ark. To reclaim their world, humans created the Nikkes: female combat cyborgs endowed with colossal firepower. Drake is an elite Nikke belonging to the Matis squad, the top technological division of the Missilis Industry corporation. Suffering from a unique personality disorder, Drake is firmly convinced that she is a diabolical “super-villain” destined to do evil. However, her naive nature invariably drives her to perform acts of pure kindness under the guise of imaginary misdeeds (such as finishing her meal so as not to waste food, or helping civilians in an overzealous manner). Wielding heavy weapons with surgical precision thanks to her innate ability to detect radio waves and enemy movements, she stands out as an indispensable defensive pillar on the battlefield, despite her chaotic and hilarious behaviour.
