GODZILLA MINUS ONE - POP Deluxe N° 2070 - Godzilla (Swimming)

This vinyl figure belongs to the POP! Deluxe category and features the giant monster Godzilla, based on a specific scene from the Japanese feature film Godzilla Minus One.

The model incorporates the aesthetic codes of the Funko brand, characterised by the modified proportions of the head. The figurine captures the creature partially submerged in a swimming position. The design highlights its scaly upper body, its crenellated dorsal plates emerging from the surface, and the movement of the water moulded in injected plastic all around the monster to simulate water eddies. The base of the figurine acts as an integrated pedestal to ensure the model remains stable on a flat surface.

Intended for decoration, display or collectors of the franchise, this set comes in its original cardboard window box in an extended format with a large transparent opening.

Released in 2023 to mark the 70th anniversary of the franchise created by studio Toho, Godzilla Minus One is set in post-war Japan. The designation "Swimming" is a direct reference to the sequences in the film where the sea creature, mutated and enlarged following the nuclear tests of Operation Crossroads, pursues military ships and trawlers on the high seas. This swimming posture, in which only the creature's head and sharp dorsal ridges cut through the surface of the water, is reminiscent of the appearance of marine predators, while underlining the amphibious threat posed by the monster before its assaults on land.
