The Evangelion Type-01 ‘G’ Awakening Form joins Bandai Spirits’ S.H.MonsterArts collection in an impressive version from the Godzilla vs. Evangelion crossover project. This original design imagines the appearance of the EVA-01 following its fusion with Godzilla’s cells, giving rise to a hybrid creature combining biomechanical armour with kaiju characteristics.

The figure retains the iconic silhouette of the Evangelion Type-01, whilst incorporating black skin with an organic texture, large dorsal plates and a long tail directly inspired by Godzilla. The EVA-01’s characteristic purple hues blend with the deep black of the King of Monsters, whilst the core on the chest features a metallic red finish.

The dorsal plates are covered in a gradient paint finish that accentuates their lifelike and monstrous appearance. This combination of mechanical and biological textures perfectly highlights the hybrid nature of this ‘awakened’ form, created specifically to bring together the worlds of Godzilla and Evangelion.

Thanks to the numerous joints distributed throughout the body, the figure can strike dynamic and ferocious poses without compromising its proportions. In particular, it allows you to recreate a roaring stance, a crouched attack position, or various poses evoking the movements of a real kaiju.

A heat ray effect, specially designed for this version, is included. Accompanied by its own stand, it allows you to stage the EVA Type-01 ‘G’ Awakening Form as it unleashes a powerful attack inspired by Godzilla’s atomic breath. A replacement horn is also included.

The Godzilla vs. Evangelion project brings together two icons of Japanese popular culture: the King of the Monsters created by Toho and the biomechanical universe of Evangelion. This collaboration explores alternative scenarios in which the Evangelions face off against Godzilla or are affected by his biological abilities.

The Evangelion Type-01 is normally a biomechanical combat unit piloted by Shinji Ikari. Developed by NERV to combat the Angels, it is already distinguished by its partially organic nature and its ability to enter particularly violent states of awakening.

The ‘G’ Awakening form is based on an original concept: imagining what would happen if the EVA-01 were contaminated or transformed by Godzilla’s mysterious G-cells. These cells, renowned for their regenerative capacity and extraordinary evolutionary potential, profoundly alter the Evangelion’s body.

As a result of this transformation, the EVA-01 develops rough, black skin, luminescent dorsal plates, a long tail and a much more animal-like appearance. Its posture becomes heavier and more feral, whilst its armament now includes a heat ray similar to Godzilla’s atomic breath.

This hybrid form thus embodies the fusion of two creatures already situated on the boundary between artificial weapon and living organism. It combines the uncontrollable power of the Evangelion Type-01 with the resilience, instinct and destructive capabilities of the most famous of the kaiju.
