Filius Flitwick is the Head of Ravenclaw House and the Charms teacher at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. A wizard of particularly small stature due to distant goblin ancestry, he compensates for his height by standing on a pile of books whilst teaching. Having taught several generations of pupils, including James Potter and Harry Potter, he is known for his emotional nature but commands respect through his immense mastery of magic. A former duelling champion, he played a major defensive role during the Second Wizarding War by casting protective spells around the castle, then defeating the Death Eater Antonin Dolohov during the Battle of Hogwarts.
