Origin and background of the character
It is in the third film that we learn Wormtail’s true identity: he is none other than Peter Pettigrew. Nicknamed Wormtail, this wizard was friends with James Potter, Sirius Black and Remus Lupin in the Marauders’ Gang, with whom he created the famous map of the same name. During the First Wizarding War, Peter cowardly betrayed his friends by revealing the Potters’ hiding place to Lord Voldemort, thereby dooming Harry’s parents. To escape justice, he framed Sirius Black by faking his own death and spent many years transformed into a rat for fear of reprisals. It was in this Animagus form that he was adopted by the Weasleys, thus remaining in contact with the wizarding world whilst awaiting his master’s eventual return. This exceptional diorama, created by The Noble Collection, captures the sly Scabbers perched on a pile of old books and scrolls in the Gryffindor dormitories. The sculpture of the animal is strikingly realistic, highlighting its grey-brown fur, its fine whiskers and the symbolic detail of its front paw, which is missing a toe – the ultimate proof of its past betrayal. The removable illustrated backdrop integrated into the transparent display case enhances the hushed and mysterious atmosphere of Hogwarts. A subtle collector’s item steeped in history, essential for completing the collection of key figures from the saga.
