Origin and world of the character (Lore)
Passed on to Ron Weasley by his older brother Percy,Scabbers is a rather lazy-looking old pet rat who is missing a finger from one paw. Although the official rules of Hogwarts normally only allow cats, owls and toads, Ron takes him with him to school. Unexpectedly, the animal turns out to be much more than a simple rodent during the events of the third part of the saga. It is in fact Peter Pettigrow (alias Queudver), an undeclared Animagus wizard and former member of the Marauders. After betraying Harry's parents to Lord Voldemort, he hid in this animal form for twelve years within the Weasley family to fake his own death.- *
