James Bond 007 — Aston Martin DB5 ‘Goldfinger’ — Revell 1/24 Click System Model Kit

Recreate James Bond ’s most iconic car with this model ofthe Aston Martin DB5, inspired by the film Goldfinger. Produced by Revell on a 1/24 scale, this Click System kit combines the elegant lines of the British coupé with the famous gadgets devised by Q Branch for Agent 007.

The model consists of 122 multicoloured plastic parts that slot together easily. Once completed, it measures approximately 20.6 cm in length. The pre-coloured parts allow for a convincing finish without necessarily having to paint the bodywork.

The Click System assembly method requires no glue. The various parts snap together and can be repositioned if a mistake is made, making this kit suitable for beginners and model-makers aged 10 and over.

The model reproduces several iconic features from the film, including the concealed machine guns, the rear bulletproof armoured bulkhead and the interchangeable number plates. These features can be displayed in their deployed state or left discreetly integrated into the bodywork.

The wheels are movable and the set includes stickers and decals, allowing you to choose between a quick customisation or a finish more in line with traditional model-making. An illustrated instruction booklet guides you through the assembly step by step.

Background and history of the vehicle (Lore)

The Aston Martin DB5 is a British sports car unveiled in 1963. Produced until 1965, it is distinguished by its elegant lines, luxurious interior and enduring association with the image of British grand touring.

It became world-famous in *Goldfinger*, the third film in the James Bond series, released in 1964. Agent 007, played at the time by Sean Connery, was handed the car by Q, head of technical equipment and gadgets at MI6.

On the outside, the DB5 looks like an elegant production coupé. However, it conceals several devices designed to assist Bond during his missions, including machine guns fitted behind the front indicators, an armoured screen protecting the rear window and a system for quickly changing number plates.

The film car also features other now-famous equipment, such as reinforced bumpers, devices designed to damage enemy vehicles and an ejector seat. These innovations transform a refined car into a true spy vehicle.

In *Goldfinger*, Bond uses the DB5 whilst keeping an eye on Auric Goldfinger, an industrialist obsessed with gold and involved in an operation targeting the reserves at Fort Knox. The car chases and the showcase of the gadgets help to make the car one of the film’s most memorable elements.

The Aston Martin DB5 subsequently reappears in several films in the franchise. It gradually becomes inextricably linked to the character of James Bond and serves as a visual link between different generations of actors and films.
