Character background and lore

Joseph Joestar is the main protagonist of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Part 2: Battle Tendency and the grandson of Jonathan Joestar, the hero of the first part. Whilst Jonathan was distinguished by his sense of honour and chivalrous nature, Joseph adopts a far more unpredictable approach: he is provocative, cunning and particularly skilled at turning a situation to his advantage.

He has mastered the Hamon, a technique that uses breathing energy to generate a force comparable to that of the sun. But his true speciality lies in his ability to anticipate his opponents’ reactions, improvise traps and use his surroundings in unexpected ways.

In *Battle Tendency*, Joseph faces off against the formidable Pillar Men, ancient superhuman beings linked to the origins of the Stone Mask. His journey leads him to perfect his Hamon whilst maintaining a fighting style based as much on strategy and deception as on brute force.
