Created by Naoya Matsumoto, the globally successful manga Kaiju No. 8 plunges readers into a contemporary Japan under constant attack from giant monsters known as Kaijus. Kafka Hibino is a 32-year-old man who originally worked for the Monster Sweeper clean-up team, tasked with clearing away the monsters’ corpses after battles. Despite past failures, his encounter with Reno Ichikawa rekindles his determination to keep the childhood promise he made to Mina Ashiro: to join the Defence Forces alongside her.
