Released in 2002, the animated film Lilo & Stitch introduced Experiment 626, a creature genetically modified by the mad scientist Jumba Jookiba. Originally designed to be indestructible, aggressive and endowed with superior intelligence in order to wreak havoc, the little alien escaped from his cell and crashed on the island of Kauai, in the Hawaiian archipelago. Taken in by a lonely young girl called Lilo, who mistakes him for a dog and names him Stitch, he gradually discovers the values of "Ohana", the traditional Hawaiian concept that no one should be left behind or forgotten. This emotional transformation enables him to overcome his initial destructive agenda to protect his new adopted family.
