Origin and character lore

Iron Man is one of the key figures in the Marvel universe. Behind the armour lies Tony Stark, a genius inventor and industrialist who develops a high-tech suit of armour that grants him superhuman strength, the ability to fly and a vast arsenal of energy-based weapons. Over the course of the comics, he becomes one of the founding members of the Avengers and one of Marvel’s leading tech heroes.

Spiral, whose real name is Rita Wayword, is a much more unconventional character. Primarily associated with the X-Men and Mojoworld universes, she is recognisable by her six arms, her combat skills and her abilities relating to magic and interdimensional travel. She has a particularly significant connection with Mojo, for whom she served as one of the principal agents for many years.
