Character background and lore

All Might, whose real name is Toshinori Yagi, is the former number one hero of the society in My Hero Academia. As the bearer of One For All before Izuku Midoriya, he uses this power to become the Symbol of Peace, a figure capable of reassuring the public through his mere presence and deterring much of the crime.

After being seriously injured during a clash with All For One, All Might can only maintain his heroic form for a limited time. He therefore chooses Izuku as his successor and passes on One For All to him, before becoming his teacher at Yuei High School. Behind his constant smile and invincible appearance lies a deeply devoted man, ready to sacrifice his health and career to protect others and guide the new generation of heroes.
