Character background and lore

Nejire Hado is a third-year student on the Hero Course at Yuei High School and one of the members of the prestigious Big Three, alongside Mirio Togata and Tamaki Amajiki. These three students are among the most talented at the school.

Nejire stands out for her extremely curious, energetic and spontaneous personality. When something catches her attention, she doesn’t hesitate to immediately ask all sorts of questions, sometimes at the risk of throwing her conversation partner off balance. This constant curiosity contrasts with her vast combat experience and mastery of her Alter.

Her Alter, Wave Motion, allows her to convert her own vitality into energy and then release it in the form of shockwaves. These energy waves can be used both to attack her opponents and to move through the air, making Nejire a particularly agile and versatile fighter.

During her training, Nejire undertook her placement with the Pro Hero Ryukyu, whose agency also hosts Ochaco Uraraka and Tsuyu Asui. This experience allowed her to take part in real-life heroic operations and demonstrate her abilities beyond the confines of the school.

Despite her status as one of Yuei’s top students, Nejire retains a warm and enthusiastic personality. Her close friendship with Mirio and Tamaki is also an important aspect of her character and helps make the Big Three a particularly popular group within the My Hero Academia universe.
