Character background and lore

Hidan is one of the most unconventional members of the Akatsuki in Naruto Shippuden. Originally from the village of Yugakure, he is a fervent follower of the Jashin cult, a violent belief system that plays a central role in his techniques and personality.

His most remarkable power is his immortality, which allows him to survive injuries that would normally be fatal. When he manages to ingest an opponent’s blood and perform his ritual, Hidan creates a link between his own body and that of his target: any injuries he inflicts upon himself are then inflicted upon his enemy.

He fights primarily using a large, three-bladed scythe, designed to draw blood from his opponents and facilitate the activation of his ritual. His impulsive temperament and pronounced taste for violence stand in stark contrast to the more pragmatic nature of his partner, Kakuzu.
