Origin and background of the character
Eustass Kid, nicknamed "Captain", is the fearsome leader of the Kid Pirates and one of the most influential members of the Worst Generation at the heart of the monumental One Piece series, created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997. Known for his violent nature and his utter lack of mercy towards anyone who dares to mock his ambitions, he shares with Luffy the ultimate dream of seizing the legendary treasure and becoming the Pirate King. Having eaten the Magnet Fruit (Jiki Jiki no Mi), a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit, he possesses the ability to attract and repel surrounding metals to fashion gigantic mechanical limbs or weapons of mass destruction. His role becomes crucial during the Battle of Onigashima, where he manages to awaken his powers to defeat Empress Big Mom alongside Trafalgar Law. Banpresto’s “WCF-Special” collection draws on all its expertise to capture the character’s destructive aura in a stylised format, paying meticulous attention to every detail of his flamboyant red hair, his battle scars and his imposing captain’s coat.
