MegaHouse pays tribute to Monkey D. Luffy in his Gear 4 Boundman form with this figurine from the Portrait.Of.Pirates (P.O.P.) SA-MAXIMUM range. This special 10th LIMITED Ver. edition marks ten years since Boundman first appeared in the collection and also coincides with the fifteenth anniversary of the MAXIMUM line. The figurine is on a 1/8 scale and stands approximately 30 cm tall.

Luffy is depicted with the massive silhouette characteristic of Gear 4, his limbs covered in Armament Haki and steam effects surrounding his body. For this new edition, MegaHouse has reworked the paint scheme, drawing on techniques developed for more recent P.O.P. versions, notably Boundman Ver.2 and Gear 2. The result retains the model’s iconic sculpting whilst updating its visual appearance.

Intended for display, this pre-painted piece belongs to the MAXIMUM tier of the Portrait.Of.Pirates collection, dedicated to MegaHouse’s most ambitious creations. Its imposing scale and Luffy’s dynamic pose particularly highlight the physical power and visual effects associated with this transformation.

Character background and lore

Monkey D. Luffy is the captain of the Straw Hat Pirates and the protagonist of One Piece. His goal is to sail the Grand Line, find the legendary One Piece treasure and become the Pirate King.

Gear 4 is a technique developed by Luffy during his training whilst the story was on hiatus. In his Boundman form, he inflates his muscles whilst using Armament Haki to significantly increase his power, speed and endurance. At the same time, his body retains its elastic properties, giving rise to movements and attacks based on the powerful compression of his limbs.

This transformation is particularly prominent during the Dressrosa arc, whilst Luffy is battling Don Quixote Doflamingo. With his imposing physique, his limbs covered in Haki and the steam rising from his body, Boundman has become one of the character’s most recognisable forms and holds an important place amongst Luffy’s major transformations.
