Origin and world of the character

Monkey D. Garp is a legendary figure of the Navy in the manga and animated adaptation One Piece, created by Eiichiro Oda. Known as "Garp the Hero" or "the Fist", he gained immense fame for having once rivalled the King of the Pirates, Gol D. Roger. Despite his power, he has always refused to be promoted to the rank of admiral in order to retain his freedom of action vis-à-vis the World Nobles. Garp has complex family ties with some of the great figures of piracy: he is the father of the leader of the Revolutionary Army, Monkey D. Dragon, and the biological grandfather of the main protagonist, Monkey D. Luffy. This specific version refers to the devastating "Galaxy Impact" attack, a demonstration of brute force combined with advanced mastery of the Haki of Kings (Royal Fluid), deployed to destroy the opposing infrastructure and free his pupil Coby.
