Character background and lore

Scopper Gaban is a former member of Gol D. Roger’s crew, the only crew known to have reached Laugh Tale and discovered the true nature of the One Piece. An experienced fighter, he was regularly depicted alongside Roger and Silvers Rayleigh during the crew’s great adventures. His weapon of choice is a pair of axes, which he wields simultaneously.

After the dissolution of Roger’s crew, Gaban disappeared from the main stage for a long time. He reappeared much later in Elbaf, where he lives amongst the giants and is still regarded as a legendary warrior. Despite his age, he retains a strength, experience and mastery of combat that bear witness to his past alongside the Pirate King.
