Character background and universe (Lore)

Crocodile, also known as Sir Crocodile, is one of the major antagonists in One Piece. A former member of the Seven Great Pirates, he secretly leads the criminal organisation Baroque Works under the alias Mr 0.

During the Alabasta arc, his aim is to take control of the kingdom whilst searching for information on Pluton, one of the Ancient Weapons of the One Piece universe. To achieve his ends, he manipulates the country’s political tensions and drives the population towards civil war.

Crocodile possesses the powers of the Suna Suna no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows him to create, control and transform into sand. This ability gives him great versatility in combat, particularly through his highly destructive sand attacks and his ability to dry out whatever he touches.

Following his defeat at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy, Crocodile remains a key figure in the saga and reappears later in the story, retaining his influential status.
