The intrepid Coraline Jones joins Funko’s Pop! Movies collection in an original Patchwork version. Inspired by the stop-motion animated film Coraline, this figure reimagines the young explorer as a patchwork doll, featuring contrasting colours and numerous deliberately mismatched details.

Coraline is depicted with her distinctive blue hair, adorned with a small pink flower. Her appearance here takes on a handcrafted aesthetic, featuring colourful patches of fabric, visible stitching and asymmetrical patterns reminiscent of the unsettling creations of the Other World.

The face is one of the key features of this edition. Coraline has two mismatched eyes resembling sewn-on buttons, one of which is marked with a cross. Her outfit combines different shades of blue, pink, purple and black, reinforcing her appearance as a doll made from patches of fabric sewn together.

The figurine is accompanied by the mysterious Black Cat, Coraline’s faithful companion during her exploration of the Other World. This addition brings to life one of the film’s most iconic duos and perfectly completes the display.

Character background and lore

Coraline is a stop-motion animated film directed by Henry Selick and adapted from the novel by Neil Gaiman. The story follows Coraline Jones, a curious and adventurous young girl who moves with her parents into the Pink Palace flats. Bored in her new home, she discovers a small secret door leading to a strange parallel world.

On the other side of the passage, Coraline meets what appear to be idealised versions of her parents. Her Other Mother is attentive and affectionate, whilst the Other World seems more colourful, entertaining and welcoming than her real life. However, all its inhabitants have buttons sewn in place of their eyes.

Coraline gradually realises that this enchanting world hides a trap. The Other Mother, also known as the Beldam, seeks to hold her captive and wants to sew buttons over her eyes so that she remains in her world forever.

With the help of the Black Cat, who can speak whilst in the Other World, Coraline attempts to thwart the Beldam’s plans. She must also find her real parents and free the souls of several children previously captured by the creature.

Despite her young age, Coraline stands out for her intelligence, her courage and her ability to face her fears. Her adventure helps her realise that perfect appearances can be deceptive and that genuine care cannot be replaced by an illusion designed to manipulate her.
