Origin and world of the character

Gardevoir (known as Sirnight in Japan) is a fictional creature from the global Pokémon franchise, created by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. It first appeared in 2002 in the third-generation Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire video games, and is the final evolution of Tarsal (after Kirlia). Initially of the Psypur type, it obtained the dual Psy and Fairy types from the sixth generation onwards. Resembling a graceful human figure in a long, flowing white robe, Gardevoir is renowned for his absolute loyalty to his trainer, for whom he is capable of sacrificing his own life or generating small black holes using all his psychic energy. The franchise has used his appearance in a variety of media, including the trading card game and the animated TV series.
