Pikachu is an anthropomorphic fictional creature and the emblematic official mascot of the global Pokémon franchise, created by Satoshi Tajiri and Ken Sugimori for the Japanese company Nintendo in 1996. A member of the first generation of pocket monsters, this Electrik-type Pokémon is characterised by its yellow rodent silhouette, red cheeks capable of storing electricity and tail in the shape of a lightning bolt.
