Patrick retains his key distinguishing features: his pink body, his green shorts adorned with purple patterns and his typically cheerful expression. Origin and character background (Lore)

Patrick Star is a pink starfish living in Bikini Bottom, under a rock near SpongeBob’s house. Featured from the very first episode of the series, ‘Help Wanted’, he is best known as SpongeBob’s best friend. The pair share many activities, including jellyfish hunting, blowing soap bubbles and various adventures that are often as absurd as they are unpredictable.

Patrick is characterised by his carefree nature, his great naivety and his particularly unpredictable reasoning. Despite his frequent lack of judgement, he remains extremely devoted to SpongeBob and is one of his most loyal companions. His green shorts with purple flowers, his pink body and his home under a rock are among the series’ most recognisable visual elements.

The character has become popular enough to have his own spin-off series, *The Patrick Star Show*, centred on a younger version of Patrick living with his family and hosting his own programme from his bedroom. However, the ‘Melting’ transformation of this Funko figurine is not presented as a specific form derived from the official storyline: it is a graphic and humorous interpretation created specifically for this POP! collection.
