Character background and lore

B1 battle droids form the bulk of the mechanised infantry deployed by the Trade Federation, and later by the Confederacy of Independent Systems, during the Clone Wars. Produced in vast numbers, they compensate for their low durability and limited individual capabilities with overwhelming numerical superiority.

B1 command droids are specialised units tasked with coordinating standard soldiers on the battlefield. They are generally distinguished by their yellow markings and an antenna that enables them to communicate with other units and relay orders.

During the Battle of Geonosis, these droids led the vast ranks of mechanical soldiers pitted against the Jedi and the Republic’s new clone army. Their presence helped to turn this clash into the first major battle of the Clone Wars.
