Character background and lore

Mother Talzin is the matriarch of the Sisters of the Night, a community of witches based on the planet Dathomir. Capable of wielding a mysterious form of magic linked to the dark side, she can observe distant events, heal, transform her allies or attack her enemies from afar.

Once an ally of Darth Sidious and Count Dooku, Talzin developed a deep resentment towards the Sith after being betrayed. She took in Asajj Ventress after she was abandoned by Dooku and helped her plot her revenge, notably by transforming Savage Opress into a powerful warrior.

Mother Talzin is also closely linked to Maul, of whom she is the mother. She repeatedly uses her powers to protect him and restore his strength, making her a major figure in the history of Dathomir and one of the most formidable practitioners of magic in the Star Wars universe.
