Recreate the famous Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian, with this character model kit from Revell. Inspired by the Star Wars: The Mandalorian series, this 1/9 scale kit depicts the bounty hunter in his beskar armour, standing amidst the ruins of a clash with Imperial forces.

The model consists of 60 plastic parts to be assembled. Once completed, it measures approximately 24.5 cm in height, 24.1 cm in length and 25.8 cm in width. Its size and generously proportioned base make it a veritable miniature diorama designed for display.

Din Djarin is depicted in a dynamic combat pose, clad in his Mandalorian armour and carrying several distinctive items from his arsenal. The figure is made up of several parts, whilst the various armour plates are moulded separately to make them easier to assemble and paint.

His right shoulder pad bears the engraved Mudhorn emblem, the symbol of the clan formed by Din Djarin and Grogu. The display also includes several Stormtrooper helmets, recalling the Mandalorian’s many clashes with the remnants of the Empire.

This traditional model kit requires assembly using glue, followed by painting. Classified as difficulty level 3, it demands precise gluing and detailed finishing work. Revell recommends it for model-makers aged 10 and over.

Character background and universe (Lore)

Din Djarin is a Mandalorian bounty hunter active in the years following the fall of the Galactic Empire. As a child, he lost his parents during an attack by Separatist battle droids. He was subsequently rescued and adopted by a group of Mandalorians, thus becoming a ‘foundling’.

Raised according to the strict rules of the Children of the Guard, Din learnt never to remove his helmet in front of another person. His Mandalorian armour and identity are central to his existence, although he gradually discovers that other clans follow different traditions.

As an adult, he works for the Bounty Hunters’ Guild and gains a reputation as one of its most reliable members. His missions take him in pursuit of fugitives and across the far reaches of the galaxy aboard his ship, the Razor Crest. Revell also portrays Din as a particularly trustworthy member of his guild prior to his encounter with Grogu.

His life changes when an Imperial client asks him to capture a mysterious child belonging to the same species as the Jedi Master Yoda. Din initially carries out his mission, but quickly returns to free the child when he realises that his captors are seeking to exploit him.

This child, later identified as Grogu, becomes his permanent companion. Din gradually leaves his solitary life behind and develops a fatherly bond with him, going so far as to confront the Guild, mercenaries and the remnants of the Empire to ensure his protection.

During a mission, Din and Grogu face a Mudhorn, a powerful horned creature. Grogu uses the Force to immobilise the monster and save the Mandalorian. Following this event, the armourer engraves the Mudhorn symbol onto Din’s shoulder pad to represent the new clan formed by the two characters.

Din gradually replaces parts of his equipment with armour made of beskar, an extremely durable Mandalorian metal. His arsenal includes a blaster pistol, a flamethrower, projectiles integrated into his forearms and various pieces of kit suited to bounty hunting.

The Stormtrooper helmets on the base of this model evoke his struggle against Imperial forces, particularly against Moff Gideon, who seeks to capture Grogu to study his connection to the Force.

This Revell model thus captures Din Djarin in his role as a warrior and protector: a former lone bounty hunter whose encounter with Grogu profoundly transforms his priorities, convictions and place within Mandalorian society.
