Origin and background of the character
Created by Matt Groening in 1989, the satirical animated series The Simpsons is an unmissable landmark in television and global pop culture. It depicts the daily life of the American middle class with biting humour through the lens of a famous dysfunctional family living in the town of Springfield. The father, Homer Simpson, is known for his excessive love of fatty food and unhealthy eating habits.
