Character origin and lore

Prowl is one of the original Autobots from the Generation 1 Transformers series. His primary role is that of a military strategist, and classic character profiles place particular emphasis on his intelligence, logical thinking and ability to quickly analyse combat situations. Hasbro has also portrayed him as a close lieutenant to Optimus Prime, tasked with helping the Autobots organise their defence against the Decepticon forces.

Unlike Autobots who favour brute force, Prowl seeks above all to resolve problems through reason and tactical analysis. His highly developed logical mind enables him to assess a complex situation and quickly advise on the best strategy. This methodical approach is both his greatest strength and a potential weakness, as unpredictable events can disrupt his reasoning.

In his classic alternate form, Prowl transforms into a police car, which explains his black-and-white livery and the bodywork elements incorporated into his robotic appearance. Hasbro has also retained this transformation for its modern figures, which are directly inspired by *The Transformers: The Movie*, confirming the link between this design and the version of the character featured in the 1986 film.

In *The Transformers: The Movie*, Prowl is one of the Autobots aboard a shuttle attacked by the Decepticons. He is mortally wounded during the assault, becoming one of the many first-generation characters whose fate takes a turn for the worse right at the start of the film.
