In the worldof Umamusume: Pretty Derby, the Uma Musume are young athletes with ears and a ponytail. Inspired by famous racehorses, they train to take part in competitions held in front of large crowds.

Oguri Cap is a grey-coated Uma Musume who joins the Kasamatsu Academy. Calm and independent by nature, she is also known for her huge appetite. Despite starting out far from the major racing circuits, her exceptional talent enables her to take on increasingly formidable rivals and gradually attract the attention of the sporting world.
