Character background and universe (Lore)

Tohka Yatogami is one of the main heroines of Date A Live and the first Spirit to be saved by Shido Itsuka.

In the series’ universe, Spirits are mysterious young girls endowed with extraordinary powers. Their appearance in the human world can trigger powerful disasters known as Spacequakes, leading certain organisations to regard them as genuine threats.

Tohka initially appears with little real understanding of the human world. Her nature is at once innocent, spontaneous and extremely direct, which contrasts with the considerable power she possesses. The official Date A Live V website describes her as a young girl with a naive and free-spirited personality, deeply attached to Shido and particularly fond of his cooking as well as kinako bread.

Shido, however, discovers that there is an alternative to eliminating the Spirits: sealing away their powers by winning their trust and affection. Tohka thus becomes the first Spirit he truly manages to save.

After experiencing everyday life alongside Shido, she quickly develops a deep attachment to him and begins to help him herself as he attempts to save other Spirits. Behind her sometimes childlike enthusiasm lies a genuine sense of justice and great loyalty towards those she considers close to her.

When her powers are unleashed, Tohka can summon her Angel Sandalphon, a gigantic sword associated with her Astral Dress. This weapon perfectly reflects the contrast in her character: a gentle, innocent young girl capable of unleashing considerable destructive power.

In Date A Live V, Tohka remains one of the central characters alongside Shido and the other Spirits, whilst the story delves deeper into the origins of their powers and the secrets surrounding their existence.

This BiCute Pure version deliberately sets aside her warrior-like appearance to emphasise her gentlest and most radiant side. The white outfit and angelic aesthetic of the range thus suit particularly well the innocence and sincerity that have characterised Tohka ever since she met Shido.
