The talented waterbender Katara joins Funko’s Pop! Movies collection with this figurine, numbered 2107, inspired by the animated film *Avatar: The Last Airbender*. Now an experienced fighter, she accompanies Aang and their allies in their efforts to preserve the balance between the nations and help rebuild the culture of the Air Nomads.

This version depicts Katara at a later stage in her story. She retains the blue colours traditionally associated with the Water Tribe, as well as the key visual elements reflecting her origins and her mastery of water.

Character background and lore

Katara is a waterbender from the Southern Water Tribe. She grew up alongside her brother Sokka in a village severely weakened by the war waged by the Fire Nation. At the start of her story, she is the last person in her tribe capable of practising waterbending.

Her life is turned upside down when she discovers Aang, the new Avatar, who has been trapped in an iceberg for a hundred years. Together with Sokka, she decides to accompany him on his journey to help him learn the various forms of bending and bring an end to the Hundred Year War.

Throughout their journey, Katara develops her powers considerably. She becomes an accomplished waterbender, capable of using this element to fight, defend herself and heal wounds. Her courage, empathy and determination make her one of Aang’s main sources of support.

Katara also plays a vital role in keeping the group united. She often acts as a protective and caring presence, but can also be particularly firm when faced with injustice or when those close to her are threatened.

Following the defeat of Fire Lord Ozai, Katara continues her commitment alongside Aang. In *Avatar: The Last Airbender*, the former heroes must face new threats whilst working to restore the airbender community and maintain the balance between the various nations.

This Pop! Movies figurine depicts a more mature Katara, who has become one of the greatest waterbenders of her time and is always ready to defend the balance of the world alongside the Avatar.
