The brave Sokka joins Funko’s Pop! Movies collection with this figure, numbered 2108, inspired by the new Avatar: The Last Airbender cinematic universe. Now older, the Water Tribe warrior continues his adventures alongside Aang, Katara, Toph and Zuko to preserve the balance restored following the defeat of Fire Lord Ozai.

This version depicts Sokka with a more mature look, whilst retaining the key elements associated with his origins in the Water Tribe. His outfit and hairstyle make him instantly recognisable as the group’s strategist, even in the deliberately simplified style of the Funko Pop! range.

Character background and lore

Sokka is a young warrior from the Southern Water Tribe and Katara’s older brother. Unlike many members of his group, he possesses no elemental bending abilities. He makes up for this with his intelligence, keen observation skills, sense of humour and strategic talents.

Together with Katara, Sokka discovers Aang, who has been trapped in an iceberg for a hundred years. The two members of the Water Tribe then decide to accompany the young Avatar on his journey to master the four elements and bring an end to the war waged by the Fire Nation.

At the start of the adventure, Sokka sometimes comes across as immature and overly confident. However, his many encounters enable him to develop both as a fighter and as a leader. In particular, he learns swordplay from Master Piandao and regularly uses his boomerang, tactical acumen and technical knowledge to support his companions.

Sokka plays an important role in the invasion of the Fire Nation and in the preparations for the final confrontation with Fire Lord Ozai. He is often the driving force behind the group’s plans and demonstrates that a fighter without elemental mastery can nevertheless influence the course of the war.

After peace is restored, Sokka continues to play a part in rebuilding the world and maintaining the balance between the different nations.
