Character’s origin and universe

BLEACH follows Ichigo Kurosaki, a teenager capable of seeing spirits who gains the powers of a Shinigami after meeting Rukia Kuchiki. He then finds himself tasked with protecting the living from Hollows and helping souls reach the Soul Society.

Rukia Kuchiki is a Shinigami belonging to the 13th Division of the Gotei 13. She is the one who initially passes on her powers to Ichigo, setting in motion the central events of the series. Despite her calm and sometimes stern demeanour, she possesses a determined nature, a strong sense of duty and deep loyalty to those close to her.

As an adopted member of the prestigious Kuchiki clan and sister to Byakuya Kuchiki, Rukia must regularly navigate the strict rules of the Soul Society and the consequences of her own decisions. Her personal development and her relationship with Ichigo play a major role in the story.
