Ichigo Kurosaki is the main protagonist of Bleach. Originally a human capable of sensing spirits, he acquires the powers of a Shinigami after meeting Rukia Kuchiki and gradually becomes embroiled in the conflicts between Shinigami, Hollows, Arrancars and Quincy.

What sets Ichigo apart is the exceptionally complex nature of his powers. As he develops, it becomes clear that he possesses connections to several sources of spiritual energy, notably the powers of Shinigami, Hollows and Quincy.

In the Thousand-Year Blood War, this combination becomes even more significant as Ichigo gains a deeper understanding of the true nature of his abilities and his Zanpakutō.
