Character background and universe (Lore)

Spider-Man is one of the most iconic superheroes in the Marvel Comics universe. Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, the character first appeared in 1962 in Amazing Fantasy #15. Behind the mask is usually Peter Parker, a young New Yorker who gains extraordinary abilities after being bitten by a radioactive spider.

His powers include superhuman strength and agility, the ability to cling to surfaces, and a danger instinct known as the Spider-Sense. Peter complements these abilities with web-shooters he designs himself, thus becoming New York’s famous protector.

What makes Spider-Man so distinctive is the constant balance between his life as a hero and his everyday problems.
