Origin and world of the character
The character of Batman (Bruce Wayne's alter ego) was created by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, making his first historical appearance in 1939 in the comic book Detective Comics #27 published by DC Comics. After witnessing the tragic murder of his parents on the streets of Gotham City, the young billionaire heir vows to devote his life to fighting crime. Lacking supernatural powers, he trains intensely to achieve physical and intellectual perfection, becoming the "world's greatest detective". Equipped with cutting-edge technology developed by Wayne Enterprises and concealed under his bat suit, he establishes himself as a symbol of fear for the local underworld. A founding member of the Justice League, Batman embodies vigilante justice and human resilience in the face of corruption in a dark world, establishing himself as one of pop culture's most influential and universally recognised figures.
