The History and Lore of the Object

Giyu Tomioka, a Water Pillar (Mizukage) in the Demon-Slaying Army, was the very first elite warrior Tanjiro Kamado met. Impressed by the young man's determination and Nezuko's protective instincts, he chose to spare them and guide them towards his own mentor, Sakonji Urokodaki. Behind his icy demeanour, his heavy silence and his apparent distance from the other Pillars lies a swordsman with a big heart, consumed by a survivor's complex. An absolute master of the Breath of Water, he has pushed his art beyond its known limits by creating an eleventh exclusive formula of formidable effectiveness: the Flat Calm (Nagi).
