This figurine depicts Giyu in the thick of battle, in a pose inspired by the Infinity Castle arc. His famous two-tone haori, his Nichirin sword and his calm, determined expression make him instantly recognisable as one of the most powerful Demon Slayers in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

The sculpture also features striking combat effects, designed to lend the scene greater depth and dynamism.

Character background and lore

Giyu Tomioka is one of the Pillars of the Demon Slayer Corps and holds the title of Water Pillar. He has mastered the Water Breathing style, one of the major breathing styles used by the organisation’s fighters. The official Demon Slayer website directly confirms his status and his mastery of this technique.

Giyu is also one of the very first Demon Slayers encountered by Tanjiro Kamado. After discovering that Nezuko, despite having been transformed into a demon, is trying to protect her brother rather than attack him, he chooses to give them a chance and directs Tanjiro towards Sakonji Urokodaki, an event that leads the young hero straight to the Demon Slayer Corps.

He has a particularly reserved nature. Giyu speaks little, comes across as very aloof and sometimes finds it difficult to communicate with the other Pillars, which contributes to his cold demeanour.

This attitude, however, masks deep emotional wounds linked to his past. During his training, Giyu was particularly close to Sabito, another of Urokodaki’s disciples. The events of the Final Selection left a lasting mark on his self-perception and led him to doubt his legitimacy as a Pillar.

The Pillar Training arc explores this sense of guilt in detail. Giyu initially considers himself unworthy of his rank, before recalling what Sabito taught him and deciding to carry on in his spirit. The official artwork for his Infinity Castle version explicitly summarises this development.

In battle, his style is based on a combination of calmness, precision and technical mastery. Giyu is experienced enough to harness the Breath of Water at a level beyond the reach of most other users.

In particular, he possesses a signature technique, the Eleventh Form: Calm, which perfectly illustrates his fighting style: rather than making a flurry of unnecessary moves, he neutralises his opponent’s attacks with almost silent efficiency.

In *Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle*, Giyu fights alongside Tanjiro against Akaza, the Third Upper Moon. The film’s official website specifically highlights the duel between Tanjiro Kamado and Giyu Tomioka against Akaza as one of the major clashes in this part of the story.

This Xross Link figurine captures precisely this moment: Giyu is no longer just the mysterious Slayer encountered at the start of the story, but a Pillar fully engaged in the final battle against Muzan’s most powerful demons.
