The overall plot centres on the journey of Tanjiro Kamado, a young man determined to avenge his family and find a cure for his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon. Within this mythology, Akaza holds a prominent position within the antagonist forces: he is the Upper Moon Three amongst the Twelve Demon Moons, under the direct command of Muzan Kibutsuji. A former human and martial arts expert, he has retained a code of conduct in his demon form centred on the pursuit of physical power, confronting high-level fighters, and the exclusive use of his hand-to-hand combat techniques.
