DISNEY - Moana - POP N° 421 - Tamatoa

This collectable vinyl figurine depicts the character Tamatoa, released as part of Funko’s Pop! range and based on the Disney animated film Moana (known as Vaiana in French). Made entirely from PVC, it depicts the giant crab with his shell covered in golden objects, just as he appears in the animated film.

Tamatoa is a secondary antagonist from Disney Studios’ 56th animated film, Moana: The Legend of the End of the World, released in 2016. The plot is inspired by the traditions and tales of Polynesian mythology, following the quest of a young girl determined to sail across the ocean to save her home island. Tamatoa is a giant crab measuring around fifteen metres, belonging to the fictional species of monster crabs from Lalotai, the underground kingdom of monsters. Characterised by a pronounced sense of pride and an obsessive love for anything that glitters, he hoards countless treasures, jewels and gold objects on his carapace, including the precious magic hook that the demigod Maui attempts to recover throughout the story.
