In the Dragon Ball Z universe, Babidi is an evil alien sorcerer and the son of the fearsome Bibidi. Lacking direct physical strength but possessing extremely powerful dark magic, he travels the universe with the aim of resurrecting the creature of ultimate destruction created by his father: Majin Buu. To gather the spiritual energy needed to break the seal, Babidi uses his spell of psychic subjugation, the Majin Mark (the ‘M’ symbol), to take control of the minds of warriors harbouring a trace of vice or anger in their hearts. He thus manages to enslave the Demon King Dabra, then temporarily manipulate the Prince of the Saiyans, Vegeta, triggering the terrible battle between Majin Vegeta and Son Goku. Although he manages to free the pink demon, Babidi’s cruelty, arrogance and incessant orders will ultimately lead to his own downfall, with the monster eventually turning against his own master to free himself once and for all.
