Character background and lore

Son Goku is a Saiyan raised on Earth and one of the main protectors of Universe 7. Passionate about martial arts, he is constantly seeking to improve and to face fighters capable of pushing him beyond his limits. The arrival of Beerus, the God of Destruction of Universe 7, introduces him to a divine power far superior to that of his previous opponents.

After achieving Super Saiyan God form, Goku continues his training under Whis. He thus learns to combine divine power with the Super Saiyan transformation, giving rise to the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, more commonly known as Super Saiyan Blue. This form is characterised by blue hair and an energy that is more stable and controlled than that of the traditional Super Saiyan.
