Origin and world of the character (Lore)Centrally introduced into the extended Five Nights at Freddy's universe through the Tales from the Pizzaplex books and the Ruin downloadable content in Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach, The Mimic is a very early-generation endoskeleton designed in the 1980s by Edwin Murray. Initially programmed to observe and reproduce human behaviour in order to keep his son company, this endoskeleton developed an autonomous and violent artificial intelligence after absorbing the agony and anger of its creator. Able to modify its body structure to fit into any animatronic costume, it stalks its targets by imitating familiar voices or distress calls.
