In the Hell’s Paradise universe, Aza Chobe is known as the ‘Bandit King’, a deeply violent character who consistently favours fighting over talking. He is part of a group of elite criminals sent to the forbidden island of Shinsenkyo, where they are tasked, in exchange for a pardon, with finding an elixir of immortality at the risk of their lives.
Chobe places absolute trust in his brother Aza Toma; this brotherly bond is one of the major narrative drivers of his journey on the island. Hell’s Paradise (Jigokuraku) is a shonen manga written by Yuji Kaku, published between 2018 and 2021 and compiled into 13 volumes, which has since been adapted into an anime series acclaimed for its dark atmosphere and unique world-building.
