HELL'S PARADISE - POP Animation N° 2278 - Gabimaru

Gabimaru (nicknamed Gabimaru the Void) is the main protagonist of the manga and animated adaptation Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku), created by Yuji Kaku. An elite shinobi from the hidden village of Iwagakure, he is renowned for his total lack of apparent emotion and his physical endurance in the face of attempted executions following his capture. Sentenced to death, he is offered a full pardon by the shogunate on one condition: to take part in an expedition of condemned criminals to a mysterious and hostile island called Shinsenkyo, in order to recover the Elixir of Life. Motivated by the desire to be reunited with his wife and to lead a peaceful life, he joins forces with his regular executioner, Yamada Asaemon Sagiri, to confront biological dangers and the local deities who protect the island's secrets.
