Origin and world of the character
The Baby Stegosaurus character comes from the cult Jurassic Park cinematic universe, and is particularly inspired by the memorable encounter scene in the second instalment, The Lost World: Jurassic Park(1997), directed by Steven Spielberg. The plot explores Isla Sorna, the secret "Site B" where InGen bred the dinosaurs before transferring them to the main island. It is in this wild jungle that Dr Ian Malcolm and palaeontologist Sarah Harding observe a family of Stegosaurus. The baby, curious and peaceful, approaches the humans before its massive parents perceive danger and unleash a destructive territorial defensive charge with their spiked tails (thagomizers). This emblematic scene is a reminder of the majestic beauty but highly unpredictable and savage nature of animals brought back to life by science.
