Character background and lore

K-Pop Demon Hunters follows Rumi, Mira and Zoey, three artists who make up the girl group HUNTR/X. In front of their audience, they perform as international K-pop stars. In secret, they use their voices, weapons and combat skills to protect the human world from demons.

Rumi plays a central role in the trio and bears a special responsibility for maintaining the magical barrier known as the Honmoon. Mira stands out for her self-assurance, her mastery of dance and her straightforward nature, whilst Zoey brings her energy, her rapping skills and her talent for writing.

Their unity is put to the test by the arrival of the Saja Boys, a rival group of demons seeking to poach their fans and weaken the Honmoon. The story thus weaves together concerts, friendship, personal secrets and supernatural confrontations.
