Origin and backstory of the characters (Lore)

In KPop Demon Hunters, Rumi, Mira and Zoey form HUNTR/X, a world-famous K-pop group that harbours a secret agenda. Between concerts, the three artists use their talents, their weapons and the power of their music to protect the human world from demons.

Rumi leads the trio with determination, Mira brings her strength and confidence, whilst Zoey stands out for her energy and creativity. Their unity enables them to maintain a supernatural barrier fuelled by the voices and enthusiasm of their fans.

Derpy, the blue cat also featured on the cover, is a demonic creature with unpredictable behaviour. Despite his supernatural origins, he becomes an endearing presence in the film’s universe and accompanies several of its iconic characters.
